My name is Carter. I grew up in a small town in North Alabama, was married to a woman for 22 years, and I am gay. I led a "straight" life until I was 45 - when I finally came out to my wife. ​ ​I decided it was time to tell my story, and to tell the stories of other men dealing with coming out at an older age.
