Anyone have trouble talking to guys even when you know they're gay as well?

So this has happened a few times before, where I either run across someone on Grindr or Tinder that I didn't realize was gay or bi. I am an introvert, and while I like to think I'm not socially awkward anymore, I am when it comes to talking to guys. Even when I know they are gay or bi. How do I talk to them, and express interest, without coming across as desperate or just horny.Does this make any sense at all?
