HVAC Scam on the "customer that doesn't know what he is looking at"

So, I definitely avoided a scam from a local HVAC company and depending on the way they handle my refund situation, I'll post the company name and all reviews I make. This is why you should always understand what you are purchasing services for, regardless of what you do for a living. I'm an accountant, so this is definitely not my expertise.I called this company and told them I have a gasket on a specific pipe that is leaking and it needed replacement. Size and everything. They gave me an appointment for the next day; great, so I thought...I must look like a newborn because the dude that showed up 20 minutes late thought I was born yesterday (I took the day off because they gave me a 5 hour window😡). I showed him where the leak was coming from and he asked me, I told him it was the seal that was previously installed incorrectly. He then explained that when you replace the seals, he would replace the motor too. WHAT THE FUCK? NO! YOU BUY REPLACEMENT PARTS AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER! (B&G motors last 50+ years with good maintenance) Then he told me that since I didn't have shut off valves on both side of the pump, he would need to drain the whole system. Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. No. If there's no water escaping, or leaking from the fill or in flow pipe, you're good if you release pressure. I learned this within 45 minutes of research following my $94 payment for a fucking box of tools to show up, not fix my problem, suggest I spend $1000+ on shit I don't need, and leave.I was nice to him because I understand commission, however, I will get my money back. He basically told me I needed to spend $800-$1200 to repair my boiler and didn't tell me the issue. I went on Amazon and ordered $12 in seals and it took us 4 hours total.I hate when people assume you don't know anything and they lie to you on some dumb shit. It's like selling a teenager blinker fluid.I can't say I was profiled because I did tell him I didn't know what I was looking at. I always tell them that to see if they will be truthful and truly help the customer. If he would have told me $200, maybe even $400 to fix the seal right then, I would have paid it. Now, my hair is burning like fucking Medusa in this BITCH RIGHT NOW!$1200 FOR WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A $12 FIX? THEY HAVEN'T HEARD THE LAST OF ME.END RANT.
