Is it just me or?

Hi I'm a 17 year old male in highschool atm and have been out for just over a year now. Also I apologize in advance for spelling and grammar errors I've had a few too many and wanted to get people's take on this. I'm kinda new to this sub reddit too, but anyways! Do any of you guys change your personality when you're around straight people or not, like for me I tend to lower my voice (which is quite straining to do) because I'm self conscious about my voice and I think people will make fun of me even though my school is very accepting. My boyfriend things it's like a safety mechanism when I get nervous around people, cause when I'm around him and my girlfriends I use my natural voice. To me it feels like I don't accept myself fully but idk. I'd like to feel comfortable with my natural voice around my straight friends but it's really hard :/. Idk what's your take on this?
