are we more then friends?

so my best friend who told me he was bi a while ago and I have known each other for around 2 years I'm in grade 12 he's in grade 11 and he has a girlfriend. But we say we love each other all the time. we hang out and just talk about really personal stuff. we talk about are dicks to each other sometimes we have discussed having sex with men(hes a virgin with men) I got up the courage one day to ask him if we would ever have sex and he said "i don't know never really thought about it" I mean I like him but he has a girlfriend. I'm just so confused
