Almost out myself to a Homophobic friend

My friend and I went out almost the whole day, and I felt that we are close. For the whole day, I was thinking of telling her I was gay.So at the end of the day, I asked to have a drink together before heading home.By the time we sat down, I kept wondering how to start a topic about Gay in general. So we somehow managed to talk about TV shows, and I realised my chance.So I talked about a friend who was into the "Arrow" series and how he imitate his line and voice, and having his picture as his phone wallpaper.Well her reaction was not I was expected. She hissed in disgust, and I was shocked. I asked if she was homophobic and she said yeah and hissed again. I was really disappointed at that point, and she talked about two girls being like that, so I just went say "mhmm" and change the subject as soon as possible.I'm glad I'm able to dodge a bullet. But in the end it'll be the same, fast or slow. I decided to let the friendship die down. Even if she knew I was gay at that point, it'll be awkward and our friendship would end there.
