3rd anal abscess in 1.5 years - feeling majorly depressed and frustrated

I'm a gay man in NYC in my early 20's and I'm about to have my 3rd anal abscess drained.Has anyone else out there dealt with this? There's shockingly little discussion online about it even though my doctor has told me it's a fairly common ailment.It's interfering with my sex life (obviously) and my sense of self worth. If anyone has any advice (or words of encouragement) they would be much appreciated. This has been a hellish few months and I really just want it all to be over.
