I came out to my husband and he wants me to stay with him anyway

we're both 40. We've been married for 13 years and we've got 4 girls. I told him and while he's upset I think he handled it relatively well.

He said to me the other day that he wants me to stay married to him at least for a few more years. He said that he didn't want to live without his kids and he didn't want his kids to have to live without their mother for both financial and personal reasons. I had told him that just because I'm gay that doesn't mean I don't still love him and he said that if I still loved him and still loved our girls is the prospect of continuing to be married to me for a few years really that torturous. he said "can you just give it another few years and then go hook up with whoever you want. as a mother of 4 this really isn't that simple.

He said that to me yesterday and I've just been going nuts since. I'm not mad at him and I don't think he's saying this in the hopes that he can convert me back or something. I wouldn't say that I was mad or offended by his request. I just found it really weird.
