Tick Boxes... Amen...

I have difficulty with tick boxes; I easily get confused, you see. I guess I'm not as smart as I would like to be. I passed my religion classes by memorising prayers, reading a bit of the bible, and writing essays about the goodness in humanity. Lucky for me, I like writing. And oh, I'm also a rambler - I talk and write in a confused and inconsequential manner all the time!It has almost been a year now when I proposed to Bradley. After September 28, 2015, I'm gonna be in trouble since there will be a major tick-box change! Instead of 'single,' I would have to tick 'married.' How about if I go to the Philippines or Australia where gay marriage isn't recognised? Can I still tick 'married?' It's a lot of thinking for a person like me, don't you think?I read a Facebook comment recently and it made me sick. Like the Lego movie, Bradley and I try our best to live in a world where "everything is awesome," even when some moments are more challenging than others. It's just the way it is. So when you read comments on social media about what homosexuals can and can't do or what gays are and are not, it makes you wonder why other people just can't accept the fact that we, too, deserve the same respect as we give them. Ignorance is never an excuse nor is obliviousness.If your mind is as narrow as the yellow brick road, I don't think Dorothy would have been able to free the Tin Man. I can't imagine Wizard of Oz without the Tin Man - the metal man who only ever wanted a heart.Silent discrimination - that's what I call it. Because, let's be honest, not everyone on here believes that everybody has the same rights as them. I must admit that, though we are all glitters and rainbows, we get affected, too. I got over it at one point, which proves that not all bitches are tamed.As I watched Lord of the Rings again the other day, I kinda wished Frodo and Sam had a love affair. And it would be so right, too, since it is legal here in the middle earth for two guys to get married! Wouldn't it be so nice to witness a real hobbit wedding, right?It will always be a constant battle for respect and equality for us. Being inside a closet was never, will never, and should never be an option. There was a military man in 1988 who was given a medal for killing two men but was discharged for loving one. This is sad; but alas, different time, almost the same story.My big problem with tick-boxes will hunt me after I become a groom to my groom. But like other big problems I had in the past, it will go on the back of that horse with rainbow horn and it will vanish. As long as I have our beautiful ring on the fourth finger of my left hand where my vein ran directly to my heart, I cannot care less what other people say. If you do not agree with my sexual preference, please unfriend me or block me altogether. Let us make it easier for ourselves, should we? Because you know what? Sexual preference is nothing compared to character; character, and I strongly believe in this, defines whether you have the wings or the horns.And as the famous drag queen #Rupaul always says, "if you can't love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else?
