Is there some secret to online dating that I don't know about?

I tried apps like Tinder, OK Cupid, Plenty of Fish, even Grindr (yikes). I was most successful on OKC, but even then, I only had a handful of conversations that eventually led nowhere.I don't know if I'd bother trying again, but I'm so forever alone. :( Halp.
