Straight Male asking Gay Men..

Hello everyone,First off I’m a straight male just had an interesting scenario I’d love advice on.I was walking into the grocery store and a well dressed gentlemen behind me said “nice shoes, where did you get them?” We stopped and had a short conversation and he reached his hand out and introduced himself. He asked me my occupation, what I saw myself doing in 5 years etc. I shook his hand again he said “great speaking with you” I said I had to go and left.As a straight guy I’ve never had anyone approach me it’s typically men approaching girls etc.My girlfriend thinks he was a hit man and was on a mission to kill me hahaHitting on me? Or hit?
