Can someone tell me im overthinking this?

So a good friend of mine came out to or friend group in the fall, and I actually had a crush on him a couple years ago, assumed he was just straight, and moved on. When he came out the feelings bubbled up again, and I worked up the courage to ask him out a few weeks later. He said he wasn't looking for a relationship, and I totally understood because he had just come out, and I moved on. Then I check tinder now four-five months later and I see him on it. Does that mean he's ready now? I'm pretty sure it means he just rejected me, but I want to hear what y'all think.
