Should I tell my friend I like him?

Hello everyone! I'm a 16 year old guy who likes my straight friend. My bestfriend and him like each other and my bestfriend knows that I like him and she doesn't care about it. I really want to tell my straight friend I like him so that I can get this feeling off my chest. I just came out to my friends like 3 weeks ago and I'm still in the closet. Should I tell him I like him or is it too early for him to know? I want to tell him immediately but face to face so that this feelings won't developed into something more. He supports me and actually really nice to me. Please help.
