Entering the community

So I'm relatively new to the whole gay world, and I haven't really had the chance to become a member of it quite yet. From what I understand the area that I live in is relatively accepting and there is a decent gay community, but I'm not really sure where to look or how to get involved in it.Any suggestions of what to dofor someone looking to become part of the community?
