Edge on college admitance

Hi, I'm a 16 year old gay kid starting to look into colleges, and I am wondering if my homosexuality could possibly give me an edge at getting accepted into a university looking for diversity. Another mention, I'm looking into a rowing scholarship to universities like Stanford, UW, and Berkley, would this also give me an edge on other athletes?I honestly just don't know if it's even worth mentioning on application. What do you guys think?
