Help me educate my mom on why we celebrate being gay/gay culture
TLDR: Looking for some ways to educate my mom on gay culture and why it's important to embrace being gay because you don't do it for being straight. (She is open minded.)I was talking to my mom this weekend about how being gay is more than just sexuality, it's a whole culture (like judaism is more than religion it also has cultural elements about it.) My mom doens't think me being gay is a big deal, but it's not something we talk about a lot because of that. Her example was "I don't need to go around talking about how your sister is straight, so I don't need to go talk about how you are gay." I understand her reasons, but I wasn't able to explain why it's something to embrace rather than just let it exist.Sorry if this is confusing; feel free to ask follow ups!
