When a gay guy tells you "I love you"

I'm straight and really good friends with this gay guy from my Physics class, we spent the whole year sitting next to each other.At prom we were on the dance floor and he randomly said "I love you". What am I supposed to think of that? Am I attractive looks wise or was it the "bond" created over the year? I was always just friendly with him.Just wondering if gay guys say "I love you" easier than straight people or idek what I'm saying lol. Thoughts?
