Those who came out to their parents with a letter...

I'm visiting my folks next sunday and I have had a letter written out for about a month now and I'm thinking of giving to them when I go visiting.My question to you is how/when did you give the letter to your parents? I'm thinking of telling them to sit down on the couch and tell them something like "I've got this thing here that I'd like you both to read together, and once you've read it all, please come to my room"I wish I had the courage to just tell them face to face but the letter seems like the best way to make sure I get to say everything that I have to say, because my heart would burst out of my chest and I'd just start bawling my eyes out before I even open my mouth.
