'I have nothing against gays, but...'

These are just the worst words to hear that for some reason are so common. 'I'm have nothing against gays, but marriage should be between a man and a woman' or 'they shouldn't show it on TV, I don't want my kids seeing that'. This is followed often by the other tiring trope 'hey, I have gay friends and they're totally cool with me so excuse all the homophobic crap that comes out my mouth :)' I'm just beyond done with people. It's so condescending for people to pretend to not be homophobic ass holes, giving you that false sense of hope, just to then drop you again and make you realise how awful the world actually is.Sorry for the passive aggressive rant.
