Your opinions on coming out on Facebook/social media...

Hey y'all! Thought I'd ask what your general opinion about coming out to people on Facebook or other social media is. I recently came out to my parents and some of my best friends and I'm currently waiting to tell the rest of my friends. The ideal is that the topic of relationships or whatever comes up and I'll be able to drop the gay bomb like it's no big deal. That's how it went down with my best friends when I told them and it was awesome.However, I'd like to be out to everyone, especially friends I don't see that often and my relatives, whom I still have a good relationship with, and I've been thinking of posting something on Facebook to be once and for all done with questions about potential girlfriends and all that, and to give them time to process it before we meet face to face again.A part of me thinks "Does everybody even need to know?" but I personally don't want to hide from anyone anymore. I kept up the straight charade for so long and I'm finally proud of who I am, and I suppose sharing the news might help potential closeted friends/acquaintances, who knows?Share your thoughts and/or experiences! :)
