How to ask guy out?

Hello everyone! I'm having some trouble deciding on how I should ask this specific guy out. I am a 2nd year college student and I have never been in a relationship before so I'm not sure how this works lol. Here's a bit of background info: The guy I want to ask out works at a dining hall at my university. I would see him around a lot last quarter while he worked at the dining hall and I thought he was cute, but I also thought he was straight so I didn't really pay much attention to him. About 2 weeks ago I got a glimpse of his name tag. He has a very peculiar name so it wasn't hard to find him on facebook and it turns out he is gay too! From browsing his fb, I also saw that we have a lot of things in common. Now whenever I see him at the dining halls I make sure to smile at him and he always smiles back and says "hi" Before I found out he was gay I was able to confidently greet him and not get nervous at all. Now that I know he is gay, I get so nervous around him or when I see him haha. I think I do a good job of hiding it because my interactions with him never last for more than about 5-10 seconds, so I think if I were to try to talk with him longer I'd crack lol We only have about 4 weeks left until this quarter ends so if I want to make a move I have to do it fast! I only see him about twice a week when he's working at the dining hall, and usually he's behind a counter handing out the food. I thought it would be kind of weird to just ask him if he'd like to hang out/get dinner or something while he's behind a hot/nasty counter but that would be the only time I could ask him because I've never seem him around campus. Does anyone have any advice on what I should say to him or what I should do? Thanks y'all!
