Are there fashion assistants/consultants for the average joe?

I know this sub is a great resource for finding what to wear. But I've been wondering, is there anyone who helps other people dress well and will actually go shopping with you as a source of income?

I don't think many of my friends would consider their fashion sense very refined or want to do this with me. I'm a young engineer just trying to round out my semi professional look at work. Mostly I would like advice on brands, fitting, and knowledge of hemming--just someone to bounce ideas off of or help guide me. I think I need more platonic lady and gay friends.
