How do I handle this?

So I've been crushing on this cute guy and have been talking to him on and off, and then I saw him walking by me, with one of his female friends. I started talking to his friend, and she said something along the lines of him being gay. I asked him, and he said, "HEY, I'm not sure."

What do I do? I'm gonna get his phone number tomorrow.
