Early PC death has put LMoP's plot on hold

After making their way to the hidden goblin cave, the daring duo entered, phallic shaped weapons in hand. To the east were two chained wolves. One was easily crushed beneath the cock hammer, the second snapped its neck in a rage-filled attempt to get at its attackers. The party moved on, further into the cave they spotted a goblin on a bridge. It saw them and called out to its brethren to release a flood. Seconds later a tidal wave of water washed through the cave but Jeff was one step ahead of it, swept Jangus off his feet and jumped into a small passageway they had spotted before. After a scream to ensure the goblin was convinced of their demise, the two adventures moved on. Coming to a large cave, Jangus and Jeff found a group of goblins, their second in command and an old man near death. The team killed all but one goblin, saved the old man and ensured the demise of the second in command. The sole surviving goblin was bound and held against a boulder. Jeff brought his phallic shaped handaxe up to the goblins rear and began his perverted interrogation. He found more about the cave, the leader of the goblins and the whereabouts of Gundren Rockseeker and his map. The goblin was then convinced to assist the party. The goblin, realising that the most powerful thing was now Jeff, allied itself with them so as to prevent its own demise. The goblin was given the name Gimply, the phallic rope that bound him was removed and his weapons returned to him.

The party then proceeded to advance on the Bugbear that lead the goblins. In one deadly swoop, the bugbear surprised Jeff and crushed him to death. Jangus, now enraged, fought the bugbear and finished the foul beast with a clean slice of his sword separating his legs from his body. He turned to Gimply, murder in his eyes and put his hands around the goblins head. But he couldn't bring himself to kill the goblin, he was not to blame for his friends death. His attempt at killing the goblin transformed into a moment of friendship as he slumped over Gimply and embraced him, sobbing.

But it was then the Gimply and Jangus saw something truly strange; a feint mist rose from Jeffs lifeless body. A figure formed from the mist, it was Jeff! But he was clearly no longer alive, a second ghostly figure escorted him away. Now Jangus and Gimply are on a quest to revive Jeff. Gimply feels responsible for Jeffs death and, under the guidance of Jangus, has grown to be his own person.

TL;DR Gay dwarf cleric rapist with phallic shaped weapons and inventory captures and subdues a goblin (practically rapes it) then makes it join the team under the name of Gimply. Not long after, the cleric kicks the bucket. Now the Jangus the Dragonborn fighter and Gimply are on a quest to resurrect him.

TL;DR2 New DM totally underestimates the bugbears attack capabilities.
