[EVENT] Anti-discrimination law now passed

In Kurdistan, the Kurdish Parliament has officially passed a bill that bans the discrimination of non-Kurds such as Yazidis, Assyrian Christians, Shia Muslims, and people from any and all cultures and beliefs. It is believed this is in order to widen support across the world, to not be seen as solely a Kurdish nation.

President Masoud Barzani rejoiced at the decision, stating, "Nobody should have to be discriminated against for what they believe in. We saw what Saddam Hussein did, and we will not follow in footsteps anywhere near villains like Hussein or Adolf Hitler. We will allow equality of beliefs and cultures for all people."

It is speculated that the long debated bills on the topics of feminist issues such as polygamy and female genital mutilation are now to be the primary social issues within the Kurdish Parliament. President Masoud Barzani himself has claimed to support bans on both topics, to help enforce female equality and prove that Kurdistan is not some barbaric nation that many Westerners would believe to be rampant throughout the Middle East.

[M]But yeah, they still can't let gays marry yet...
