Gay Phase?

This is in no way meant to offend anybody at all whatsoever.Okay so I'm a 14 year old guy (straight I might add) who used to think he was gay. I had always liked and had crushes on girls up until about 6-7 grade when I suddenly started noticing guys more. I didn't think I could actually be gay though for some reason. I just couldn't. So I continued this secret life until 9th grade when I met this girl and guy who became my best friends. After only a few months I realized how much I loved this girl and now we are in a great (secret...) relationship I hope lasts forever.The other guy however, well let's call him Chris, came out to me in a friend way telling me he's gay. But something didn't feel right about it and it still doesn't feel right now. Not that I'm at all against gays or anything like that. But I just can't actually see him as gay. I have other gay friends who I am completely fine around, but it just doesn't feel right him being gay. Could it be possible that he's still in a sort of "Gay Phase" like I was? How long? And I know if he isn't then I'd have to accept it. I care about him a lot like, he's a brother to me. He's in our school choir and I think that might be confusing his orientation as a guy maybe just a bit. But of course I could be completely wrong on all of this.
