The long life problem of straight crushes

Has anyone had a good solution for them yet?I know this story has been heard a million times, and many of us have probably dealt with it, so I'm asking, how did people handle it?Context: Fancy my best mate, have done for years. We're really close now, really good friends. It's feeling quite difficult to ignore now, and it's not going away on it's own.Sometimes I wish I could turn being gay off so I could just be straight up friends (pun intended) with the people I love in my life.
