Should I be scared about meeting a internet friend for the 1st time?

I've known this guy for a year now and I wanna know him in person instead of over the internet. I'm a 21 yr old male and gay. From what I've been told, he is 32 and bi. We're good friends and spend quite some time together playing video games and I popped the question, "Would it be cool if I drove down to your place and stayed over?", he then follows up with the answer of "sure". He claims to be very nervous about me going over, which I understand because who wouldn't be nervous about meeting someone for the first time. I also become nervous whenever I think about this guy/going to meet him in person. The only information I know about this guy is from whats he's told me over the computer. Shouldn't I be scared more then nervous? Because I'm not scared at all. Is this normal?
