More anecdotal evidence that bigotry is learned

I'm bi and genderqueer, and I came out to my parents about it (first about sexuality, about gender a year later). There was a lot of hemming and hawwing, a lot of "but haven't you thought about not being like this", and "just please don't act like this in front family friends". Yesterday, since I am home from college for the summer and have no plans to hide who I am, told my 14 year old brother (I'm 19) about both queer aspects of me. His reaction: "you're still gonna teach me how to torrent music, right?"So, point is, not enough people in his life have told him that trans or non-straight people are bad for him to care. So if you've come out to your parents but are unsure about younger siblings, don't be too afraid. I, for one, was nervous. My brother just came out of middle school, which was a bigoted hellhole when I was 14. But I guess things are changing.
