Military pride

I just came back from an LGBT pride luncheon...... on a U. S. Air Force base. Hosted by the commander. All the traditional military stuff, plus a very powerful speaker with his husband. Very poignant stuff about how they had to go through all the stresses every military couple has, plus they had to keep everything about themselves secret, while opposite-sex military spouses could enjoy the support of each other and of the command.It felt great. The American military is now the American military, of and for all of us, not just a subset. I never expected to see the day so soon.
